Kveik Yeastery K.9 Ebbegarden – Organic Dry Yeast Culture 300 g
Original kveik yeast from the Ebbegarden farm in Norway – fruity character and fast fermentation

Kveik yeast is a traditional Norwegian mixed yeast culture, used for centuries in farmhouse brewing and passed down through generations. It is known for lightning-fast fermentation and producing unique aromas and flavors.

The K.9 Ebbegarden strain comes from the Ebbegarden farm in Stordal, Norway, renowned for its long history of fruit cultivation, which is believed to give the yeast a distinctive fruity aroma profile.

These yeasts ferment excellently in the temperature range of 15–38°C, with the highest temperatures allowing fermentation to complete in as little as 48 hours. At lower temperatures, the process takes longer. Nutrient supplementation is recommended to ensure healthy fermentation.

Flavor and Aroma Profile:

  • Primary notes: apple and pear

  • Additional notes: tropical fruits, citrus

  • Aroma intensity: medium at higher temperatures, milder at lower temperatures

Note: Ebbegarden enhances perceived bitterness – reducing IBU in the recipe is recommended.

The Kveik K.9 Ebbegarden yeast is versatile and suitable for many beer styles:

  • Farmhouse ales

  • IPAs, stouts, porters

  • Seasonal and experimental beers

Dosage and Use:

  • Sprinkle directly onto wort at temperatures above 18°C

  • Standard dosage: 30 g / hl

  • For fermentation below 18°C or high-gravity beers: 60 g / hl
